The University of Cincinnati Genetic Counseling Program offers an Online Clinical Embryology Course to meet these needs. Begin and proceed at a pace that is compatible with your schedule. Enrollment is continuous.
This extensive course is divided into basic developmental lectures and clinical application presentations. Each lecture is presented using a combined audio/video format using Microsoft Producer and detailed PowerPoint slides.
Coursemaster DJ Lowrie Jr, PhD has consistently been recognized for excellence in teaching. His recent awards from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine include: Most Outstanding Teacher (Embryology/Gross Anatomy-2001; Microscopic Anatomy-2002), Silver Apple (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006), and Gold Apple (2003, 2007).
The online version of this course was based on Professor DJ Lowrie's graduate level Clinical Embryology course for genetic counseling students. The online version was originally adapted by Nancy Warren, MS, CGC and updated in 2012 by Carrie Atzinger, MS, CGC.
The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized
the Genetic Counseling Program, University of
Cincinnati and
Cincinnati Children's Hospital to offer up to 2.55 CEUs or 25.5 contact hours (Category 1) for Clinical Embryology Online. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned for this course for the purposes of certification and recertification.
