Genetics programs in Texas
The American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) Medical Genetics Residency Program is accredited by the Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. We are currently approved for a total of 6 residents.
Two-year Medical Genetics Residency: Currently, Medical Genetics does not use the NRMP for those applying for the two-year program. Most individuals apply to the two-year program 18-24 months before the anticipated start date. Interviews are granted based upon review of the application package and there is no set time frame for interviews. The two-year block schedule can be viewed here Two Tear Program Block Schedule.
Four-year Combined Pediatrics/Medical Genetics Residency: Applicants who are seniors at allopathic medical schools in the United States must use the ERAS for entry. Applications are accepted through ERAS. We use the NRMP Match to fill positions. We can only accept international medical graduates if they have a J-1 Visa. The four-year block schedule can be viewed here Four Year Block Diagram.
