4th Year Genes & Genetics & Biotechnology + Ecology & Evolutionary Biology
My life in short caption would be, I was selected as an Olympic candidate for swimming but couldn’t visualize my whole life as an athlete. So, my mom applied to immigrant to Canada. While waiting for application process, I was sent to Brazil for a year where I saw how interconnected human are to science. Without science, disease kills heartlessly. Without biotechnology, there will be no fresh fruit or vegetable for citizens. Seeing the difference in lifestyle motivated me to pursuit science as my very passion. Since then, I have been in TUBS executive for 3 years working with various projects to help student reach out to opportunities and volunteered for numerous hospitals and out-reach organizations.

3rd Year Pathobiology
I’m a short and curious undergrad that’s often behind a camera. I also work in a microfluidics lab, which is a field that has plenty of applications in biotechnology. As U of T students, we are situated in a research hub with numerous laboratories and companies in biotechnology around us. TUBS provides a fantastic outlet and resource to connect students and those who work in biotechnology to enable them to shape their own goals and interests. Together, let’s help make this year biotechnastic!

4th Year Pathobiology
Biotechnology is an ever growing field of science, and has an extensive impact on the public’s well being. As a Life Sciences student, the Toronto Universities Biotech Society allows me to extend my university experience from the academic realm into a social perspective of biotechnology. Getting involved with the executive committee of TUBS is a great way to further develop my ongoing participation and experiences in extra-curricular activities. Here, I would encourage all interested students to come out to TUBS and see for yourselves the boundless opportunities that are open for you.
