Masters in Biotechnology University of Helsinki
University of Helsinki has so much to offer (learning spaces, laboratories, libraries, technology etc), so couple of our Student Ambassadors decided to share with you some of their personal favorite places. What’s your favorite place at the UH?

One of my favourite places at the University is the Learning Centre Aleksandria. I somehow feel that it is a little island of stability and calmness when it comes to the stress of the exam period. It is quite hard to concentrate and work productively at home, as there are plenty of distractions. But in Aleksandria I feel far more motivated! The fact that everyone is studying hard inspires me to do the same, increasing my overall productivity. And you can always meet your friends there and have a nice coffee break and recharge your batteries before going back to textbooks-equations-lecture notes
Another awesome place at the University is UniSport. When I first came there to exercise, I was surprised (in a good way, of course) by the diligence and eagerness to train exhibited by all students. Even though sometimes the gym quite crowded, I kind of like it. It means that university students here in Helsinki care about their health and well-being Everyone is willing to take turns while using tredmills or weights and share some tips about healthy way of life. And going there with a group of friends is so much fun also! I am sure that with the amount of sitting and studying that we do, going to our wonderful gym facilities every week is just necessary.

One of my favourite places of the city centre campus area is a so-called Think Corner. This place combines amazing atmosphere, student life spirit and tasty coffee! However, it is not only a place to hang out. Here you can also buy a university hoodie or other stuff with a university logo on it! Moreover, there are a lot of theme-specific educational evenings and events organized during a year! Visit it yourself.
